Files from Publisher 98 through Publisher for Microsoft 365. Files from Publisher 2.0 and 95 (before 1998) can't be read, and the report will tell you which ones those are.
WordArt comes back as WordArt, but some curved styles are simplified. Rotated text boxes are straightened in Word. Text that Publisher hid because it overflowed its box becomes visible. Text doesn't wrap around pictures the way it can in Publisher, and a few custom fonts and paragraph spacings may differ slightly. Very large pages such as banners are scaled down to fit PowerPoint and Word (the PDF keeps the real size). The report card flags these for every file.
Every licensed conversion gives you both. Word keeps newsletter columns linked, so text flows from one column to the next as you edit, just like in Publisher. PowerPoint (or Google Slides) keeps rotated text and is the easiest to rearrange. Because PowerPoint can't link text boxes, PubShift splits each story across the columns, and a column can end a line or two off.

With PubShift for Windows, your files never leave your computer. The free online sample uses files only to run your conversion and deletes them 1 hour after it finishes; the download link is a long random address that only you have.
